About Nutrition and Safety

Bisphenol A or BPA is an industrial chemical that has been used to make certain plastics and resins. There is no BPA in the manufacture of PET. Any traces of BPA found in rPET come as a result of the recycling process where materials are mixed together. As recycled PET becomes more common in food packaging, traces of BPA may be found. The levels are very low and well within EU specified limits. All recycled PET used for food packaging is of the highest quality, has to come from an approved process and be certified as food grade safe.
